The Robinsons Malls was the venue for the recently concluded “Parangal sa mga Kabalikat para sa Kalikasan”, an activity spearheaded by the Department of Environment & Natural Resources (DENR)-Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) –NCR in celebration of the 2004 Philippine Environment Month.

This year’s celebration focused on the importance of preserving and maintaining the Philippine Seas & Oceans, as discussed by Regional Director EMB-NCR Sixto E. Tolentino, Jr in his presentation to a group composed of the country’s top corporations & multinationals. Mr. Fernandino Concepcion, Assistant Director of EMB-NCR in a follow-up speech reiterated his appreciation to the awardees for their support in the environmental campaigns of DENR. Mr. Conception encouraged the awardees continue their efforts towards sustainable development. On the other hand, DENR Secretary Elisea G. Gozun, in her inspirational speech, focused on the practice of good governance within the Department.

The highlight of the event, which was held at the Galleria Trade Hall of Robinsons Galleria, was the presentation of plaques to several business & local government institutions that have supported environmental advocacies spearheaded by DENR & EMB-NCR. DENR Secretary Elisea G. Gozun, assisted by DENR Regional Executive Director Corazon C. Davis, & Regional Director Sixto E. Tolentino, Jr. were present to hand out the plaques to the awardees.

Host venue & awardee Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) represented by the Robinsons Malls’ general manager Nilo S. Mapa, Jr. received a seeding from DENR officials, which symbolized RLC’s support for the protection of endemic flowering plants.
