ROBINSONS LAND IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNIVERSITY OF STO. TOMAS AWARD OUTSTANDING THOMASIANS IN THE FIELD OF ARTS

Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC), in partnership with the University of Sto. Tomas – College of Fine Arts and Design, has successfully launched its very first Art Competition featuring the works of up and coming young Filipino Artists.
Held at the Level 3, Veranda of Robinsons Galleria, the art competition titled “Likhang Sining: Exploring Filipino Culture in Modern Art”, looks to present the exhibit as an instrument of communication to promote the Arts to the youth.
RLC invited students from the University of Sto. Tomas – College of Fine Arts and Design to put their individual artistic expression on canvas as they promote the beauty of Filipino culture. Using only acrylic as medium, the students were able to vividly create images of the country’s majestic sceneries and its rich history and traditions.
In the end, six (6) Thomasian artists emerged as the top winners in the competition. Michael Anthony Mazanillo’s “Ang Makulay Na Kultura Ni Inang Bayan”, Ariana Lagman’s “Phrimary Colors”, Kimberly Villarojo’s “Kultura Ng Pilipino: Storya Ng Paglalakbay Sa Mga Siglo”, Jianne Nicole Uy’s “Kooltura”, Jayvee Francisco’s “Simbang Gabi” and Ma. Isabel Jimenez’s “Amalgamation of Various Traditional Filipino Lifestyle” each claimed a spot in the Top 6 of the competition awarding them a cash prize worth ₱6,000.00.
To fully-recognize the skills of the young artists, RLC also awarded cash prizes to all the participants so they can continue their passion for the arts and inspire other people. All students who were part of the Top 7 to 25 received a cash prize worth ₱5,000.00 while those who claimed a spot in the Top 26 to 50 received a cash prize worth ₱2,000.00.
A total of fifty (50) artworks were recognized in the event with each art piece narrating the story of the country’s history and culture. The most significant part of the competition is the opportunity for the artworks to find a home in one of RLC’s properties. With this, the public will be able to see the diverse range of skills, talents and techniques that the young artists possess.
