In the Philippines, the month of August marks the start of “Buwan ng Wika”, celebration of Filipino pride and artistry. And what better way to celebrate it than to recall the heroism of Filipino heroes and take pride in the Philippine’s history through works of Art. Robinsons Novaliches, in cooperation with the Art Association of Novaliches and Puno Art Gallery, joins in this celebration as it hosts “BAYANi JUAN ART EXHIBIT” which will run from August 18 to 31.
The works of well-known Filipino artists such as August Santiago, Roi Espinosa, Chito Ignacio, Manny Buñag, Viel Samaniego, Jun Tayao, Arnel Danga, Norman Cristobal, Wilfredo Rupon, Giovanni dela Rosa, Mardonio Cempron, and Des Inosanto will be put on public exhibit at the Trade Hall of Robinsons Novaliches.
These artists will be using oil, watercolor and other media on their masterpieces that narrate the story of certain Filipino heroes like Melchora Aquino, Manuel Quezon and Andres Bonifacio, just to name a few.
The exhibit will also have an on-the-spot poster making contest for high school students carrying the theme “Quezon City and the Millennial Heroes” wherein the winners get their works featured in the exhibit. Other prizes at stake include medals and gift certificates worth P1, 000 for the 3rd placer; P1, 500 for the 2nd placer; and P2, 000 for the 1st placer.
Interested students need only to fill out the registration form and submit it on or before August 15 together with a photocopy of their IDs at the Information Booth of Robinsons Novaliches.
